Room Parties

One of the fun things about Kawa Kon is that we allow room parties. All you need is a room at the hotel and approval from the con chair.

The convention rates for normal hotel rooms are as follows:

Queen bed $85
King bed $95
Two double beds $115

The hotel also has several suites, but none of them are in our block, and parties in the Executive Tower are STRICTLY PROHIBITED. Please make sure not to book your room in the Executive Tower and ask for a party floor if you plan to host a room party.

To reserve your room, call the Crowne Plaza at (314) 726-5400 and tell them that you are with Kawa Kon to get the convention rate.

If you want to host a party, here are the steps you need to follow:

1. Pick a theme. It can just be a party for fun, but themed parties are really awesome and tend to attract more attendees.

2. Decide the age group. If you will have alcohol, you are STRICTLY forbidden from allowing anyone under the age of 21 into the room. Period. If our security or anyone else catches someone under 21 in a room party with alcohol, you will be removed from the premises and likely arrested.

3. Get approval. Email the con chair at Katrina@kawakon.com to get permission to host your party. Tell her the theme, the names of the hosts, your cell phone numbers, and whether you will have alcohol. Unapproved room parties will be shut down, especially if there are noise complaints.

4. Book your hotel room. Tell them you are hosting a party and want to be on a lower floor. If you don't, your party may be shut down because of noise complaints or other issues.

5. Advertise! Tell people about the party on our forums. Make fliers and post them on our designated advertising stand in the lobby of the hotel.

6. Be safe and have fun! Keep your party under control. Don't try to stuff too many people in your room. You are responsible for any damage that occurs during your stay. Security will walk the hallways, and they don't want to have to shut your party down.
