Another registration deadline passes & Artist Guests of Honor announced!
Our August 31 registration deadline just passed, but you can still purchase tickets for $5 more (now $30 for a regular weekend badge) until October 31.
We are pleased to announced that our Artist Guests of Honor for 2011 are Tyrine Carver and Wil Woods of MUSETAP. Wil is a staple in many local convention Artist Alleys, but for Kawa Kon, his lovely partner Tyrine will be attending as well. Wil and Tyrine will present their beautiful artwork, including webcomics and posters, and they will teach several panels on art so that you can learn from them.

Big, Big News! Dates for 2011!
We would like to thank you one more time for your support and enthusiasm. There is no way this convention could happen without you! Your excitement at Closing Ceremonies is the reason we are doing Kawa Kon again in 2011.
Now, without further ado, the dates for 2011 are... March 11-13! That's right. Same weekend. A few more small things need to fall into place before you can start booking rooms, but you will be able to do that by the end of May.
Thank you again for being our fans and our friends. It means a lot to us.

Thank you!
I would like to take a moment to thank all of the wonderful attendees, volunteers, vendors, artists, staff, and guests who made Kawa Kon 2010 so much fun! It was exactly the sort of convention we were hoping it would be, and despite my one technical mess-up during the masquerade (again, I apologize to Let's Have a Mario Party and the other two groups I messed up when I accidentally stepped on the power strip), it went off pretty flawlessly.
A convention can't happen without the amazing show of support we've gotten from all of you. Your enthusiasm for anime, video games, and Japanese culture shows us that we would be totally remiss if we didn't keep doing our best to bring you a great convention.
Will there be a Kawa Kon in 2011? You'll just have to wait and see. We're going to take a month or so off to figure things out for next year, so please forgive our dust while we work. If it all pays off, you should have a convention that's even better for 2011!
Until then, if you're a yaoi or slash fan, head on over to Bishie Con's website, and gear up for our convention coming December 17-19, 2010. We'd love to see you back at the Crowne Plaza for Bishie Con!
We'll see you all soon at Cape Comic Con, OMGcon, NatsuCon, and many other conventions this summer!
Smexy Mikhail's Cosplay Calendar available in the Kawa Kon online store
Due to the unexpected popularity of our vice chair's cosplay pictures at Bishie Con, we have created a calendar of some of his blush-inducing cosplays for all of the fangirls (and boys) to buy for the new year. Some of the featured costumes are Bill Tempest from Studio Kôsen's Stallion, Goemon from Lupin the 3rd, and Remus Lupin from Harry Potter. Find the calendar and other items for sale in our Kawa Kon Shoppe.
Bishie Con and the Cosmic Eggroll
Thank you to everyone who made Bishie Con a success this past weekend. We are excited about next year.
The best part of Bishie Con being over is that we now have more time to devote to Kawa Kon! Over the next few weeks, you will see a lot of updates on our website, including guest announcements, events, and contest information.
For those of you who missed Bishie Con's Crossplay Drag Show, we have a big announcement! I've been talking about the Cosmic Eggroll for the last few months, and it's finally cracked. At Bishie Con, we announced that the Cosmic Eggroll is our code name for a new convention: Ecto Con, the world's first Ghostbusters convention. Ecto Con is coming up in 2011, so get your proton packs ready!
As always, we can't WAIT to see you at Kawa Kon 2010!

An Easier-to-Remember Website: KKon.com!
Kawa Kon has yet ANOTHER new website to ad to the growing number of places you can go to get the same info as our homepage. Now all you have to remember is KKon.com! KKon.com will have the same information as kawakon.com, animestl.com, and animestlouis.com (we're keeping all of those, but we're just adding kkon.com to that). We're just doing it to make things easier on you when you're trying to remember how to spell "Kawa". :)
